The proceedings of the 10th Summer School on Theoretical Physics "Symmetry and Structural Properties of Condensed Matter" (SSPCM 2009) will be published in the Open Access Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS) which is published by the Institue of Physics Publishing. All papers published in JPCS are fully citable and upon publication will be free to download.

JPCS is abstracted and indexed in Scopus, Inspec and elsewhere. Citations to JPCS papers are tracked online using IOP Publishing's citing articles facility in addition to the full citation tracking facilities provided by Scopus.

A few examples of JPCS proceedings volumes in the research area of the SSPCM 2009 conference:

Preparing and submitting your paper

Authors are kindly asked to bring manuscripts of their lectures to the School, or send them to the organizers before. We expect papers in electronic and printed version (up to 15 pages for a plenary lectures and 6 pages for a contribution, prepared according to "Journal of Physics" style). The deadline for manuscripts of lectures is September 3, 2009 (for reason of refereeing procedure). All papers will be subject to a standard refereeing procedure before publication.

Journal of Physics: Conference Series uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e according to the journal guidelines and templates.

Instructions on preparing your paper, together with Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates, can be downloaded from the journal web site.

What you need to provide

  • The PDF file of your paper: when preparing their papers, authors are kindly requested to ensure that they follow the minimum basic requirements from the journal guidelines. Full details are available online online, but as a minimum authors should:
    • Use either European A4 or US Letter sized paper with at least a 25mm white space margin all around the page.
    • Ensure that their paper includes an abstract, however brief.
    • Not add any page numbers, headers or footers to your article as these will be added during the publication process.
  • Any multimedia files you wish to publish online
    • JPCS encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. Multimedia guidelines are included with the Word and LaTeX2e templates.
  • A signed Assignment of Copyright Form
    • The Assignment of Copyright Form is included in the Word and LaTeX2e templates. You can send it electronically to your Conference Organiser (as a PDF) by scanning the printed and signed form.
